GO! Achievements
Global Orphan Relief has been active in Zambia since February 2006. In just
over two years GO! has accomplished much (as of Q3 2008):

- Delivered over 40 pairs of shoes to Ndola Orphanage
- Performed repairs in kitchen of an Ndola Orphanage
- Remodeled a kitchen in an Ndola Orphanage
- Provided School Fees in 2007 for Ndola Orphanage
- Established water storage facility and completed water distribution system
for Ndola Orphanage - Provided for 6 picnic tables to Ndola Orphanage
- Provided for Stove & Refrigerator for Hope for the City Orphanage in Kitwe
- Provided groceries for Hope for the City Orphanage in Kitwe
- Provided portion of school uniforms for school for Orphans in Chingola
- Provided portion of funding for new roof for community school in Silembe
- Established Orphanage in Silembe, Zambia, called House of Faith
Orphanage (HOFO). The first child transitioned to home on 14 March 08. - Shared and encouraged with over 2,500 Zambian's in various settings -
building them up, offering encouragement, and building awareness for the
plight of Orphans in Zambia.

DRC - Zambia Leadership Team - In September a small team with travel to the
Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia. The objectives of the team will include a site
survey for potential project in Lwambo, DRC, project evaluation at HOFO, and we will be
kicking off our Silembe School project.
Journey of Faith II - team to visit Zambia in March 2010. Team will fund and work on 5th home
of the projects, among other activities.

All donations are tax deductible to the extent of the law. Global Orphan Relief was founded in 2005 as World Orphan Relief, and received approval for tax-exempt status in March of 2006. |
Mission Lubuto
'Lubuto' means light in the Bemba lanugage, and since our start in Africa we
have been spreading this Light! We began our work in Zambia in early 2006
with a visit to several orphanages in Ndola, Zambia. Our first team included
Scott Nordstrom, our founder, and Rick Vigil of Fort Myers, Florida. This first trip
lasted for just under two weeks, and the time was spent on fact-finding,
orphanage repairs, and building awareness for the plight of Orphans in
numerous churches throughout Zambia. This first trip planted the seeds of love
for the children of Zambia that continues to grow today.
We have since began a work in Naama, Uganda, at the Salem Children Centre.
With this project we are assisting the children in the home by providing funds
necessary for food, clothing, and education. We are working with Pastor Alex
Businge as his ministry provides for these children.

Center at the project. - Silembe Community School - invest in water well and teacher's home.
School is failing and upgrading the facilities will allow us to recruit a
qualified teacher. - Capacity Building - creating fund for full-time position of Executive
Director.

Our vision for Zambia really extends beyond the borders of Zambia as we plan to
use our base in Zambia to spin-out to serve Sub-saharan Africa. We believe that
Zambia is strategically located to serve this area of need. Sub-saharan Africa is
the only region of the world with an increasing Orphan populaton, and is home to
over 90% of the world's HIV-positive children. Our plans include:

Orphans - Partners working in 3 other Sub-saharan Africa countries by 2013
